When you need to screen a therapeutic landscape for pipeline candidates that meet specific criteria (novel modality, late-stage, active partnering), or build a competitive set for an indication you are evaluating, the Market Screen workflow generates a structured Smart Table with full methodology transparency and include/exclude rationale.
Launch the Market Screen
From any Smart Table view, select Launch a Workflow in the top-left corner, then select Market Screen.
Define your screening criteria
Describe what you are looking for. For example: "Identify all Phase 2+ bispecific antibodies in solid tumors with active licensing or co-development opportunities." Be specific about the therapeutic area, modality, stage, and any deal-related filters.
Use the Enhance button (bottom-right) to let the AI refine your query for clarity and structure before submitting.
When ready, select Next Steps.
Review the parsed query
The AI organizes your request into a structured analytical question. Review the parsed description to confirm it captures your intent. If not, select Retry (top-right) to re-parse.
Automatic search criteria
The AI defines initial search parameters based on your objective, determining what to look for and where. This runs automatically.
Apply filters and customize columns
The AI presents filter options based on your inputs. Select the filters that matter for your screen (subtype targeting, innovative modality, licensing status, etc.) to shape the final output.
You can also add, remove, or customize columns at this stage, the same way you would with AI Columns. This ensures the final table structure matches your analytical needs.
When satisfied with your filters and columns, select Start Autopilot. You can close the window; Maven Bio notifies you when the screen is complete.
Understanding the output
The output includes a visual summary of the filtering funnel on the right side of the screen, showing how your initial universe was narrowed to the final results.
You can download this chart as an image or Excel file for use in presentations.
The left-side toolbar contains four tabs:
Methodology
Reiterates your original request and documents the approach: how data was gathered, filtered, and structured to match your objectives.
Selected Results
The final set of entities that matched your criteria after detailed review. You can export the table, launch a new workflow, or adjust filters and columns.
Excluded Results
Entities that initially matched but were excluded after deeper review, with reasoning. This transparency lets you second-guess the filtering or pull excluded items back in for further analysis.
Event Feed
An auto-generated feed of recent developments related to the entities in your screen. You can add items directly to a watchlist from here to set up ongoing monitoring.
Share and collaborate
The toolbar in the top-right corner lets you invoke the Maven Assistant to ask questions about the output, download or export the data, and create shareable links for collaborators. When a recipient opens a shared link, a copy is added to their account.
What you can do next
Once your screen is complete, consider these next steps:
Add AI Columns to enrich your screened results with additional data points like deal history or IP status
Create a Watchlist from selected results to monitor catalysts and news flow
Run a Prioritization Exercise to score and rank your screened assets against weighted criteria
