Running a Prioritization Exercise on a Smart Table

Rank pipeline assets, in-licensing candidates, or acquisition targets against weighted evaluation criteria using the Opportunity Prioritizer workflow.

When you need to rank 50 pipeline assets for in-licensing potential or score acquisition targets against strategic criteria like clinical differentiation, regulatory risk, and commercial viability, the Opportunity Prioritizer workflow turns that exercise into a structured, weighted output inside a Smart Table.

Launch the Opportunity Prioritizer

From any Smart Table view, select Launch a Workflow in the top-left corner.

Select Opportunity Prioritizer to open the workflow panel where you define your objective.

Define your objective

Describe what you want to prioritize and why. For example: "Rank these oncology assets by near-term partnering attractiveness, weighting clinical differentiation and regulatory timeline."

Use the Enhance button (bottom-right of the text box) to let the AI refine your query for clarity and structure before submitting.

Review the approach

The AI parses your objective into an analysis focus, attached list, and structured goals. Review these to confirm your intent is captured correctly, and edit the objective text if needed.

When satisfied, select Next Step.

Automatic search and criteria generation

The AI now defines search parameters and builds an evaluation framework based on your objective. These steps run automatically, laying the foundation for targeted data extraction.

Steps 3 and 4 processing automatically

Once complete, the AI presents a structured evaluation criteria framework with its reasoning.

Refine criteria and weightings

Review, add, or edit the criteria that will score each asset. Adjust weightings to reflect your priorities. For example, weight "regulatory timeline" higher if you are screening for near-term catalysts.

When the framework reflects your priorities, select Start Autopilot. The AI generates your scored Smart Table. You can close the window; Maven Bio notifies you when the output is ready.

Understanding the output

The toolbar at the top of the output doubles as an index for navigating between sections.

Analysis and Approach

Reiterates your original request and documents the methodology: how criteria were defined, what data was gathered, and how assets were filtered and scored.

Top Opportunities and full rankings

The Top Opportunities table surfaces the highest-ranked assets with a prioritization rationale for each. You can launch a new workflow, export the table, or adjust filters and columns directly from here.

The All Opportunities table shows every evaluated asset with per-criterion scores and a Combined Score for overall ranking. The same workflow, export, and filter options are available.

Criteria definitions

Documents each evaluation criterion, the rubric used for scoring, and what each measures (clinical validation, mechanistic differentiation, partnership potential, etc.). This section provides full transparency into how rankings were determined.

Event Feed

An auto-generated feed of recent developments related to the entities in your table. You can add items directly to a watchlist from here, making it easy to set up ongoing monitoring for your highest-ranked assets.

Share and collaborate

The toolbar in the top-right corner lets you invoke the Maven Assistant to ask questions about the output, download or export the data, and create shareable links for collaborators. When a recipient opens a shared link, a copy is added to their account so they can explore and build on it independently.

What you can do next

Once you have your ranked output, consider these next steps:

  • Add AI Columns to enrich your ranked table with additional data points like deal terms or IP landscape

  • Create a Watchlist from your top-ranked assets to monitor regulatory and clinical catalysts

  • Export the table to share scored rankings with colleagues offline
