Running a Prioritization Exercise on a Smart Table

Updated over 4 months ago

The Opportunity Prioritizer workflow helps you identify and rank high-potential assets based on your specific objectives. By guiding you through request setup, filtering, and evaluation criteria, it generates a custom Smart Table tailored to your needs. Each step ensures transparency and traceability. The result is a focused, data-driven output to support confident decision-making.

In Smart Table view, you can launch a workflow using the Launch a Workflow button located in the top left corner.

Click on Opportunity Prioritizer to open a new window where you can type your request.

Step 1: Submit Your Custom Query — Create and submit a custom query to generate targeted results.

Using the Enhance feature located at the bottom right of the text box, use the Enhance feature to refine your query before submitting it. This helps improve clarity, structure, and relevance, ensuring your request yields the most accurate results

Step 2: The Review Approach step lets you confirm that your request has been accurately captured. You can review the analysis focus, attached list, and objectives, and make any necessary edits to the objective to ensure the context and priorities are clear before the tool begins prioritizing results.

Once reviewed, click Next Step.

Steps 3 and 4 are now in progress. These two steps lay the foundation for accurate and targeted data extraction.

Step 5: Based on your inputs, the AI explains its reasoning and suggests a structured evaluation criteria framework.

In this final step, you review, add and edit the criteria that will be used to evaluate and rank the results. You can adjust weightings to align with your prioritization goals.

Once you’re satisfied with the Framework, click Start Autopilot. This will trigger the AI to begin generating your Smart Table based on the defined criteria and structure.

You’ve now successfully initiated the Opportunity Prioritizer. You can close the window if you wish—Maven Bio will notify you once the screening is complete and your Smart Table is ready to view.

Understanding the Output

The toolbar at the top of the report doubles as an index.

The first Analysis and Approach section reiterates your original request and outlines, in detail, the context for the analysis as well as the approach taken to fulfill it. It provides clarity on how the criteria were defined and applied to gather, filter, and structure the information to match your objectives.

This table lists the Top Opportunities based on the evaluation criteria. Each entry includes a prioritization rationale that explains why the asset is ranked highly. You also have options to launch a new workflow, export the table adjust filters and columns as needed.

This table displays All Opportunities evaluated during the analysis, along with their performance across each selected criterion. The Combined Score on the far right summarizes the asset’s overall prioritization rank.

Just like Top Opportunities, you can launch a new workflow or sort, filter, or export  the All Opportunities table.

The Prioritization Criteria Definitions section explains each evaluation criterion in detail and outlines the rubric used for scoring. This includes what each criterion measures (eg: clinical validation, mechanistic differentiation, or partnership potential) and the scale or logic applied to rate assets. It ensures full transparency into how prioritization decisions were made.

The Event Feed option takes you to an auto-generated feed highlighting key developments related to the entities in your table. From here, you can add specific items to a watchlist without navigating away. This feature is designed to help you set up alerts and monitor important updates quickly and seamlessly from within your Opportunity Prioritizer.

By using the toolbar options on the top right, you can invoke the Maven Assistant to ask questions about the report, download or export the report, and create shareable links to collaborate with other Maven Bio users. These options are consistent with basic Smart Table features.

When a shared link is opened, a copy of the report or table is automatically added to the recipient’s account, allowing them to explore and work with the data independently.

With built-in guidance and transparent evaluation criteria, this tool streamlines the process of identifying and prioritizing high-value opportunities. From setup to final output, every step is designed for clarity, traceability, and ease of collaboration.
