Exporting a Smart Table

Updated over a month ago

A smart table once created can be used on the app or exported in Excel or CSV format for offline use or shared with other Maven Bio Users.

By using the download option on the top right of the table you can create shareable links to collaborate with other Maven Bio users. When a shared link is opened, a copy of the table is automatically added to the recipient’s account, allowing them to explore and work with the data independently.

To Export a Smart table- Click the Export button on the top right corner of your screen above the table. This opens a dropdown

In the export drop down you can select

  1. the type of file you want: Excel or CSV

  2. Which columns you would like to export- You should be able to export data from your table in three different ways—All, Visible, and Custom—depending on your needs.

All option allows you to export all columns from the table. You can also choose the data range—either the current page or the entire table.

Visible, option exports only the rows and columns that are currently visible on your screen. Like the All option, you can select the data range: current page or entire table.

Custom, Use this option if you want to manually select the specific columns to export.

When you click Custom, a menu will appear—similar to the one you see when you click on columns on the top left of your table that lets you:

Select or deselect columns to include in your export. This allows you to export columns that are currently hidden in your table

Once you have made your elections complete this process by clicking the export button.

Each exported file is delivered as a workbook containing at least two sheets:

  1. The primary data table.

  2. A Data Sources sheet that includes the cited excerpts for each populated cell along with direct source links and a link to the evidence detail within Maven Bio.

Using the evidence link, you should be able to verify sources, review column details and row items for context, and confirm accuracy by viewing the Table Cell Value with supporting Direct Evidence. You can also trace the research steps to see which sources were analyzed to derive the information.

This feature allows you to validate the data without toggling between the exported sheet and the Maven Bio app, ensuring that every cell in your table is fully traceable and backed by clear evidence.
