This article explains how to navigate the Maven Bio interface. It covers the left-hand toolbar, using Find (Search Anything), creating and switching between projects, and managing files. By following this article, you will understand how to move across the platform, organize your work within projects, and quickly locate or manage generated artifacts.
1. Using the Left-Hand Navigation Toolbar
On the left-hand side of the Maven Bio landing page, you will see a vertical toolbar.
This toolbar provides access to:
Creating new tasks
Searching the database
Smart Tables
Research Reports
Watchlists
Files
Projects
Tasks
Use this toolbar to navigate across different sections of the platform.
2. Using Find (Search Anything)
Use Find to search the Maven Bio database for a specific entity or asset.
Opening Find
You can open Find in two ways:
Click Find in the left-hand navigation panel.
Press Command + K.
This opens the Search Anything dialog box.
Searching Within Find
Type the name of the item you are looking for.
Click the All dropdown on the right-hand side.
Select the entity category you want to search.
Available categories include:
Companies
Drugs
Indications
Mechanisms
Targets
Trials
Clicking on a result opens its informational page within Maven Bio.
3. Creating and Managing Projects
Projects allow you to organize workflows, Smart Tables, reports, and Agent outputs within structured environments.
Accessing Projects
Click Projects in the left-hand toolbar.
The Projects window will display cards representing your existing projects.
You may also search for a project from this window using the search bar.
Creating a New Project
You can create a project in two ways.
Option 1: From the Projects Window
Click New Project.
Enter:
Project Title
Project Description
Assign a color for identification.
Click Create Project.
The new project will appear in your project list.
Option 2: From the Top Toolbar
Locate the dropdown next to the Maven Bio icon in the top toolbar.
Click the dropdown.
Select Create New Project.
Enter the required details.
Click Create Project.
Identifying the Current Project
The active project is displayed in the top toolbar, directly next to the Maven Bio icon.
This indicates that you are currently working within that specific project environment.
Switching Between Projects
To switch projects:
Click the dropdown in the top toolbar next to the Maven Bio icon.
Select a different project from the list.
You will immediately enter that selected project environment.
Returning to the Home Environment (Outside a Project)
You can exit a project by clicking the dropdown next to the Maven Bio icon and selecting 'Home'.
This returns you to the main landing page outside of any specific project.
Working Within a Project Environment
While inside a project:
Smart Tables you create
Agent searches you run
Reports you generate
Other analytical outputs
will remain saved within that specific project.
This ensures organized workflows and clear separation between workstreams.
4. Using the Files Tab
The Files tab allows you to view, filter, search, and manage all files and artifacts generated within Maven Bio.
This includes outputs from:
Smart Tables
Research Reports
Other workflow-generated artifacts like spreadsheet etc.
The Files tab is designed to help you quickly access or reorganize files without navigating into individual projects.
Accessing the Files Tab
Navigate to the Projects section from the left-hand toolbar.
Select the Files option within the Projects area.
This opens a consolidated view of your files and artifacts.
Viewing Files by Project or Folder
Within the Files tab, you can identify which files are currently placed within a particular folder and view all files across projects in a centralized view.
This allows you to confirm file location without opening each project individually.
Searching for Files
You can locate files using:
Free text search — type the file name or keyword into the search bar.
Project-based filtering — view files from a specific project.
File-type filtering — filter to specific types of files (e.g., Smart Tables, Reports etc).
allowing you to quickly narrow down results to the asset you are looking for.
Managing Files
From the Files tab, you can:
Select one or multiple files.
Move selected files to a different project.
Delete selected files.
These actions allow you to organize your workspace without navigating into each individual project.
Projects and files can be accessed directly from the home screen, beneath the task input field.
5. Filtering and Searching Tasks
The Tasks option on the left-hand toolbar allows you to view a list of all tasks completed by the AI Agent.
For legacy users, this section also includes past chat history from Chat Mode.You can filter tasks by project or use the free-text search bar to locate a specific task by its title.
6. Maven Bio Workflows
The Workflows option allows you to create your own custom workflows and access Maven’s built-in workflows.
